About a month ago I began getting a message that I was
low on virtual memory and the system was going to make an
update itself. This began occurring more frequently --
approximately every 30 minutes or so. I may only have
one webpage up, but it still comes up. Now the problem is
getting worse. Just so happens someone else in my office
is having the exact same problem with her system. The
message appears constantly before displaying a blue
screen -- memory dump message. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Brian

You probably have some background program running that is leaking memory big
time. Hit [Ctrl]+[Alt]+[Del] and select task manager. Leave it running as
you work. Click on the Processes tab, then click the View option, then
Select columns. check the Virtual memory size box and click OK. Now you can
see which programs are using X kilobytes of your page file. When you find
the program that is ballooning in size, post back here.

Go here http://www2.whidbey.com/djdenham/Msconfig.htm and get MSCONFIG.

I followed your instructions but do not see any program
balooning. What I do see is a lot of programs operating
in the background with about 75% of the memory being used
at any one time, esp. when I have MSN open. Could all
these programs working in the background be a source of
the problem? If so, how can I reduce this?

Thanks for your help.
