My computer appears to be running slowish, I went in to System
Monitor/Performance and on the graph there are a few `peaks` at 100
level, also if I dowload a pic from NGs it is slow. I am thinking I have a
`memory type` problem.
My hard drive reads used space 9.12GB and free space 29.1GB, I have also
defragmented and cleared hisory/temp/cookies etc.
Can someone offer sdvice on what to look at next or what I should do.
thanks

Possibly. But hard drive space is NOT memory. Got at least 512 ram for
the proper operation of XP?

I already run AVG, Sygate firewall, Spybot once a week, Have had Hijack log
checked on Spybot forums, I use window washer to clear out temp/cookies etc
and have tried various virus checkers including house call.
I will check out the others though just in case.
thanks

Most welcome and good luck. I would also suggest:

Run the Task Manager, go to View/Select Columns, and turn on the following
columns: "I/O Read Bytes" and "I/O Write Bytes." This will give you details
as to which process is accessing the disk.

And running the Startup Tracker and read the log file, thoroughly: Good
luck!
