Memory Dump -- Blue Screen

H

Harrington

Using Windows XP Professional on Dell computer.
Turned computer on and got a blue screen with this message:

A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down
to prevent damage to your computer.
NTFS File System
if this is the first time you've seen this screen, restart
your computer. If this error happens again, follow these
steps:

Technical information:
***STOP: 0x00000024 (0x00000000, 0x00000000x, 0xf7adc2c3)
***Crash hdd.sys - address is 0f7adc2c3

dump physical memory complete.

I've added no new hardware. And when I reboot, it goes to
the windows check disk and then it tries to verify (and
can't verify hardware parameters). Then, it restarts and
cycles through again.

Any ideas?
