Memory address failure

Ben Sehara

Hello.

I have the following message and can't start the windows.

Memory write/read failure at 1FFF0000, read FF107F10 expecting FF10FF10
Memory address line failure at 1FFF0000, read FF10F10 expecting 00000000
Strike the F1 key to continue, F2 to run the setup utility

When I hit F1 key, I get the blue screen message. The technical information
of the message is this.
"STOP: 0x0000007E (0xC0000005, 0x48C43DF8, 0xF8Z594AC, 0xF8A591AC)"

Is this the hardware problem? I swapped the memory chip with the good
working one but it didn't help. The computer is DELL Inspiron 4150 with
512KB memory and Windows XP Home Edition.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Could be the motherboard or a memory failure. Try using your diagnostic disk
from Dell.
