memo field on group level

I have a memo field on a report that is set to grow if needed on a group
level. The detail section may list a number of items. The memo field is the
last column of the report. If the memo field expands, the detail section is
pushed down accordingly. The detail section contains only two fields which
do not fall under the memo field. Is there any way to make the detail
section not get pushed down when the memo field expands?

Thanks,
Karen

I take it that you want to display it something like this --

Now is the time for all good men. This little piggy went to market.

The big bad wolf huffed
and puffed
How now Brown cow? at the door.

The quick brown fox
jumped over the
lazy dog's back.

One option is to concatenate the two fields with several Chr(13) line feeds.
Position the top edge of the field and memo exactly at the same height
verifying by checking the TOP property.

What I was looking for is more like this:
12345 ABCDEFGHIJK 03/03/06 03/03/06 This is the memo field that can
expand.

When this part expands, the detail section below

this group level moves down and so the first item will

show up on the next line after the memo field is done
Item1
Item2

I want the Item1 to start right under the group section. I really can't see
a way that this can work since the memo field is in the group level and the
item information is on the detail level.

12345 ABCDEFGHIJK 03/03/06 03/03/06 This is the memo field that can
expand.
Item1
When this part expands, the detail section below
Item2
this group level moves down and so the first item will

show up on the next line after the memo field is done

Thanks for your time.
