Meeting Request changing default Calendar view

My default calendar view is week. When I get a meeting request, there's a
handy 'view in calendar' button. This opens my calendar in a new window in
day view BUT when i view my calendar again it has now changed to the day
view too. Opening a meeting request's 'view in calendar' window changes
my calendar default from week to day. I can live with the meeting request
opening in day mode but can anyone tell me how to prevent it from changing
my default calendar view? Thanks.

AFAIK, you can't. It's applying a new view to the folder and you can only
have one view on the folder.

That's why I always click the button for the view I want before closing that
extra window. Outlook always remembers the most recent view.

I don't think that's possible.
