MediaPlayer 9 and MovieMake 2

Does anyone know if there are any issues with opening
MovieMaker 2 files in Media Player 9 where the MovieMaker
2 files then become unreadable/uneditable in MovieMaker 2?
I am seeing my files in MovieMaker 2 now show up with a
large X in the thumbnail after having opened them in
Windows Media Player. Any ideas would be appreciated.
