Can MovieMaker make an audio-only CD?

I used MovieMaker to trim the length of three tunes, copied from a music CD.
Next I burned a new CD of those edited tunes, but my two conventional CD
players do not recognize the disk. Although my computer will play back the
newly burned CD, my portable CD player says "No CD." I have even tried
copying the file back to Windows Media Player 10 as a WMA file and then
burned a new CD of those edited tunes as WMA, and still it won't play on a
conventional CD player. Yes, the CD player does work with other disks.

Any thoughts?

Do any of you experts out there know if there is a way to edit/trim tunes
via Media Player? If so, maybe that is my answer, 'cause there seems to be
something in MovieMaker than off-line CD players find incompatible.

Try the following steps.

After editing the audio files in Movie Maker...
(be sure to drag the clips all the way to the left
in the Audio Music track or you will have dead air)
Go to...File / Save Movie File...or type...Ctrl+P /
Next / Next / Next...This will create a .wma audio file.

Now open WMP10 and click the "Burn" button...

Drag/drop the .wma file into the Burn List...

Insert a CD into your burner and click the
Start Burn button.
