Media player won't open

When I try to open Windows media player I get the message "Windows cannot find ""C\windows\pup.exe"". I also get a McAfee virus scan message that there was an AdClicker-O trojan deleted. Any ideas what the problem may be?
 
Make sure PUP.EXE is gone and then reinstall WMP over itself.
