media player will not work

my windows media player willl not work. I download the
beta 10 an tried to roll it back. once it was rolled back
to a previous version. the previous version would not
work. now either version will work. each time I try to
open media player I get application error message. I
download windows media beta 10 again an it says that
version is already on the computer. but either version
will not work. I cannot play any windows media content.
please help

Reinstall WMP 9 over top the old one. You cannot Restore from 10 back to 9.

You can't do that. The WMP9 installer will not overwrite a newer files.
You can restore from WMP 10 back to WMP 9. (1) Your Add/Remove programs
contains a new rollback method built just for WMP 10. (2) System Restore (3)

Well, the fact that you deleted anything is what made it work, and will also
bit you back later. You never should delete any files or registry entries
for WMP unless you want to have some real fun a bit later.

On Zach's website there are _exact_ instructions on how to remove if the
rollback does not work. I would overly trust one of the guys that wrote the
rollback method then randomly deleting stuff, sorry to say. :\
