media player substitute

Having trouble with Windows Media Player, 9.0 Could someone suggest a good
alternative, plays videos and music. Or is there a site that an older
version of Windows Media Player can be found. Thanks for any help

If you have Windows XP, you may already have an old version on your
hard drive. Look in C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player for
mplayer2.exe
 
Thanks for replys. I have a new sound card, and evidently its not compatable
with Windows Media Player. Downloaded earlier version from the site posted,
but still won't play my mp3 files. Can play all files with regular mp3
players, but not windows. Guess I won't be playing music with windows
player. Thanks again.
