Media player in Vista ceases to Suck!

Nice default setting Microsft. I want the QA managers head on a stick!

Well that all good, except I want to use some of the enhancements, what
should I do then? Are there no other solutions?

Don't know. the odd thing here is that ll the enhancements were
unchecked so I presume that no individual enhancement was causing this.
I would start with wth the master check box turned off and then get a
feel for how fast the media player is. Then enable what you want one at
a time and see if it is tolerable. I bet there is just one that is
causing the problem. I don't need any of them so I'm not going to run
this down until I have some free time.
BTW, Are you on a laptop or a desktop? Everyone that seems to be getting
grief from this has been on a laptop.

This seems to be a problem with Sigma Tel audio adapters in particular.

Not seen with Creative or Realtek adapters.

Sigma Tel needs to work on their drivers.

I have a Dell Dimension 9200 with a Sigma Tel HD Audio.
If it's only a Sigma Tel problem maybe they will have a fix? Any clues?
