I'm looking for a media player for the .m3u or .pls live streaming
format. Media Player Classic hasn't worked for me in two different
versions of the program and the huge K-lite codec application. What
happens is that I connect, but the sound goes by at a furious pace for
an instant, then stops. My system is partially-corrupted Windows ME at
the moment, and I'll soon be moving to XP SP2. MP3 files play perfectly
in my Media Player Classic versions.

WinAmp "lite" has been recommended to me, but as an AOL product, I'm
wary of installing it.

The show I want to receive is streamed and also available archived at
http://www.whiterosesociety.org/Kincaid.html.

Any recommendations?

Richard

Since you will get XPSP2 then you will get media player 9 with it, perhaps
10 if its slipstreamed..
if not donwload 10 and install it. www.microsoft.com/windowsmedia
On winME you can install windows media player 9 (maximum version)

Winamp is ok though, since it was developed
by the winamp team before AOL bought it... all you have to do is
deselect some optional shortcuts when you are installing.

No development since 2004, but seems to work well with streams of this
type. However, I was not able to test with the live stream you're
interested in.

FYI:
The stream for Head On Radio, with Bob Kincaid, goes live weeknights
from 7:00-10:00 PM Eastern Time (USA).
