Media player needs 98% CPU usage to run

When I run Windows media player it starts ok and after a
while uses more and more of the CPU until the music or
film starts to stutter.

Can enyone help?

I can't help you - but so does mine

And I have a brand new machine (Dell Laptop - P4 3 ghz)
