media player crashes

Every time I try to play a mp3 with media player 10 the program crashes. I
reinstalled it but that did not correct the problem. I have no problem
playing video files though.

any ideas?
 
Go to Tools and then Options. Then find the file type tab and make sure that
mp3 files box is checked.
 
Been there done that. I told you that media player will not
start. Media player is broken. Media player is having a problem
on this computer.

Amazingly, computer sounds (the little wav files) play just fine,
so I know it is not speaker related.
