media player classic 6.4

This is a great program! The only problem I'm having with
it is that it has a lot of pops and clicks when playing a
stream - more than WindowsMediaPlayer 6.4 had. I'm sure
this is a setting issue, so I would appreciate any insight
to correct the problem.

Thanks,
Dave

if you have win98se or windows2000 install windows media player 9
if you have windows xp install windows media player 10

these provide the best technology for streaming content...

I forget exactly what the issue is, but I recall there is a
license issue. As I recall, they want the right to monitor
what I listen to, or some strange thing. So no more M$.

Oh, my Windows computer is ME.

No that is incorrect. You can turn off all features that communicate with
servers for information.
its in the options.

Me can upgrade to windows media player 9.

If "no more MS" then you should be using linux not windowsME

John,

Thanks for the info on the privacy option. I totally agree
with you on Linux and I do use it, but a few programs that I
have to use (a lot!) run under only Windows. I expect that
situation to change by year end.

I suggest you not to limit yourself to linux,

For the time bieng there are not enough professional apps on linux,

Unless your work only needs you to use a limited number of apps and not
experiment
with different ones...

For example if I was to use linux as a graphics workstation it would very
limiting for me....
