Media Player 8 DVD codec needed

If there is a better place to post this, please direct
me.

Windows XP SP1
Windows MP 8.00.00.4487

Please direct me to a free codec so I can play commercial
DVDs.

Sony DVD - R DW-U18A . No codec with the device, nor
are any available from Sony, that I can find.

There are no free decoders for WMP. Due to licensing costs anything you
find labeled as "free" is just pirated. You would need to purchase a DVD
decoder if you wish to watch DVD's on your PC.
 
Hi,

Try to find ACE mega codex, it has like over 100 video and
audio codex you can install for your players. I believe
its free, just do a google search for it.
