Media Player 10 max's cpu usage

Hi, This may not be the right forum for this question, however I could not
find one for Media Player. I recently upgraded to Media Player 10. Having
the new media player open, even when it is idle, slows my computer to a
crawl! Investigation of the problem reveals that the "wmplayer.exe" process
is using 100% of the CPU usage.

The problem begins imediately when media player is started. Cpu utilization
runs around 15% to 20% for the first ten second, then jumps to 100% and stay
there. The media player proccess also uses an increasing amount of memory.
After 1 hour it is close to 100MB!
My computer is a compact with a 2.8 Ghz Atheloen and 512MB of RAM, running
window XP with service pack 2 installed. The system works perfectly except
for Media Player.

I Run XP myself, and had a similar problem. Once started, WMP runs on very
little CPU usage, but then it starts taking up more and more, causing
problems for other running apps. If your looking for a decent media player,
try WinAmp (www.winamp.com) it takes up very little resources, and rarely
tends to rise to a higher usage, and has a wider range of playable file
extensions then WMP.

Its a free app so you dont have to worry about paying for it, plus theres
often regular upgrades and "Skins" (used to change how the player looks)
available as well! Its easier to use and customise the WMP, a lot more
suer-friendly and is easily supported by most PCs.
