I want to integrate Media Player 10 into XP much the same as you do with XP
SP2.
I have seen the other thread about integration but it really did not answer
the question.

I am aware of how to install MP 10 using the gui run once feature but I am
trying to reduce the overall time it takes to install my companys SOE.

As a side note I am also trying to do this with DirectX9.0c.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You haven't installed it in the T-13 part of an unattended install?
Or installed it on a PC, sysprepped and made an iumage with it?

unattended.msfn.org

Look through the forums and the likes as well.

I don't want to install it as part of the unattended install. I want to be
able to integrate it directly into the i386 directory similar to the way you
can slipstream Hotfixes and service packs.

*sigh*
Did you look through the MSFN forums? I guess not.

From the MSFN Forums that I mentioned (suggested you look through) earlier -
using their search feature and looking for "slipstream Windows Media Player
10" (worked in Google as well):

In case you don't want to click on the link.....

-------
10 Easy Steps to Slipstream WMP10:

1. Download WMP10.

2. Extract the files using the /C switch.

3. Delete all files except:
asferror.dll
blackbox.dll
CEWMDM.dll
custsat.dll
DRMClien.dll
DrmStor.dll
drmv2clt.dll
LAPRXY.DLL
logagent.exe
migrate.exe
mpvis.DLL
msnetobj.dll
MsPMSNSv.dll
MsPMSP.dll
msscp.dll
MSWMDM.dll

wmpui.dll
WMSDMOD.DLL
WMSDMOE2.DLL
WMSPDMOD.DLL
WMSPDMOE.DLL
WMVCORE.DLL
WMVDMOD.DLL
WMVDMOE2.DLL

4. Optionally customize your full mode skin
http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=34998

5. Compress all files by running "makecab filename destination".

6. Copy all the cab files into your i386 folder.

7. Find WMP.IN_ in your i386 folder and extract the file.

8. Add this line under [WMPAddReg.PUI]:
HKCU,"SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MediaPlayer\Preferences","AcceptedPrivacyStatement",0x00010003,1

9. Save the file and recompress it using makecab.

10. And you're finished!

Remaining files could be slipstreamed by making them into cab files and
adding the right destinations to the txtsetup.sif file, and perhaps even
adding some registry entries into the hive*.inf files. Please note that
slipstreaming these files hasnt been tested by me, so USE AT YOUR OWN RISK.

Features included in the remaining files are:

MPEG Audio Layer-3
DRM Features
Portable Media Devices Support
Out of Band Component Installer
User Mode Driver-related files
Additional Encoding and Decoding files
WPD Objects?
MTP Protocol
Additional USB Device Support
Online Stores

Most of these features will probably be useless. Unless you found WMP9
unsuitable for your needs and recognize what the features are for, these
features wont be needed.

For your "side note":

So you don't ask again in vain or possibly go searching on Google for it..

DirectX 9.0c is part of SP2. So if you slipstream/integrate SP2 into your
installs, you have slipstreamed/integrated DirectX 9.0c as well.
