Media files and CDs play back at wrong speed

I just went to play a CD in Windows Media player and noticed the
playback speed was too fast. Tried both CD-Roms and same problem. Then I
went to play a WAV file on my HD and that too is off-speed. Anyone have
any idea as to what is going on? I have never had this happen before.

JT, I ran into this same problem. I believe you have to change the
buffering setting (under tool, performance) from default to a higher number
(30 seconds max).
