Speed of Windows Media player and other MP3 players

Friends,
I am using windows 2000 Pro. when i play any song or
movie Audio/Video it plays fast speed specially in MP3.
before i thought may be there is something wrong with
Windows Media player thats why i Installed MP3 software
but i am getting the same play result. even some other
user of windows 2000 pro. they have the same problem, any
help any idea?

PS try updating/reinstalling your sound card drivers
