I see/hear of PCs being sold with Windows XP Media Edition. Can XP SP2 be
upgraded or is this an edition you have to purchase?

It's available primarily as a factory-installed OS, but I believe there
is an upgrade version available, if your computer meets its much more
stringent hardware needs.
