I have Media Center 2005 installed. Read an article which states to get full
benefit of same " Click START, expand ALL PROGRAMS and click MEDIA CENTER".
The problem is that I can not find MEDIA CENTER. Does Media Center need to be
reinstalled? Also, when starting Windows, the screen shows XP, rather than
Media Center; is that proper.
Thanks, Andy

Hi

Try:

Start>Programs>Accessories>Media Center

Hi

Go to Start/Run and type in

%SystemRoot%\ehome\ehshell.exe

Do have access to Media Center then?

Hi

How do you mean "wouldn't accept it"? Did you get an error message of any
kind?

Go to Start/Run again and type in

winver

On the top of the screen that shows, you should see:

Windows xp
Media Center Edition

Do you see that?

I got some kind of responce that it suggested I go to search. I did & found
nothing.
Typed in winver and it showed XP Professional, nothing that said Media
Center. Should I try and reinstall ? CD says it's Windows XP Media Center
Edition.

Hi

If you saw just XP Pro that means Media Center isn't installed. Yes, you'll
have to reinstall to get Media Center onto your hard disk. If you have an
OEM disk you may only be able to perform a 'Clean' install of XP - which
means everything on the hard disk will be lost.

Thanks for your help. I'm not sure that I want to risk losing EVERYTHING on
my hard drive, but thankks for the help.
