I'm running XP Pro (clean install) on a system I put together. I was running
Win 2000 Pro after I finished building the system. I upgraded to XP and
liked the results. I understood that a clean install would be better, so I
cleaned the harddrive and installed XP Pro again. The windows look better.

However, I now get (in the hardware manager) the yellow notice that mdmsxdk
has a problem. It checks out as being stopped by windows. Does anyone know
what this divice is? Also, is there a way to fix the issue?

Have an external/internal modem?
Install the drivers from the manufacturer.
