MDI and XP FAX Viewer

Is it possible to use the XP Microsoft Document Imaging (MDI) tool to
view existing/stored FAX (tif) files ? and vice versa ?

What is the difference between a filenamed.MDI and a filenamed.TIF ?

Yes, MODI can be used to view tif FAX files; it normally assumes the role of
default viewer when Office is installed. What do you mean by "and vice
versa"? An MDI file is an enhanced Office Document Imaging file and a .TIF
is a "Taged Image Format" graphic: filename.MDI would contain image data not
found in filename.TIF
