We have a construction project management program called
Timberline. It requires MDAC 2.7 for installation. To
date, I've had 3 machines that won't install MDAC 2.7.
The first was in need of rebuild so I did, the second was
hozed by support staff trying to help, this one needs a
resolution.
When I install MDAC 2.7, the installation launches,
appears to work fine, but then shows nothing in the disk
space window. It will not continue. If I look in the
registry, I see that MDAC 2.61 is installed. What gives?
Why is MDAC so teperamental? I've scanned for spyware,
viruses, trojans, etc. The system is clean and only has
Office XP and Pervasive Database software on it. How can
I rip out MDAC and properly reinstall it? I've tried
deleting the reg keys and the the MDAC 2.7 setup will
actually run and finish but my Timberline program will
still not see MDAC.
The finger pointing is frantic, as Timberline has no idea
why MDAC is hozed. All help greatly appreciated!
