MCE crashes

When I first installed xp media center It didn't work and I tried for 3 months
to get it to install correctly. When it finally worked, it just worked i
tried installing it the same way i did every other time. It was fine for a
while the it started crashing frequently. sometimes it crashes on startup,
sometimes randomly, and sometime when an error occurs. I also get frequent
errors that cause the program to close. I often have to restore it because
it won't boot. I want to try re-installing but I don't know if i can
deactivate it so I can reactivate the new installation. Is there any other
way to fix this?

Are you sure the RAM is good? Sounds like bad or flaky RAM.

I have tested the RAM and used a different stick and I had the smae problems.

Not addressing your problem - however regarding activation - if after
reinstalling you can not activate via the net - do so by phone - explain
situation.
