MBR and booting to E Drive

I have a interesting issue. I tried a few MBR repairs and still no joy here.
I had a dual boot system . Vista and XP Pro. I used Vista Boot Pro for the
dual boot part.
A week or so ago after the IE7 install screwed up my system I decided to
reinstall a fresh copy of XP onto a Sata Drive using a controller card.
All went went except for booting up. I set the SATA Drive which is Drive E:
and I still get a dual boot screen for my OLD Windows (Which it will boot
into) and the New Install. Right now it will boot into the damaged XP and the
new XP.
Here is the kicker. I get a NTLDR error on boot if I do not have the Windows
XP Disk in. That is the only way this bugger will boot.
So I want two things here. I want to boot into the E Drive which is Boot in
Disk management and nor have to use the CD of course.
Also in XP Disk manager console E: is boot but C: is system, After I remove
some important files I'll reformat C:
.. Any one? I tried FIX MBR in Recovery console and I am somewhat familiar
with other Recovery console tools in XP.

Boot to the good XP install in Recovery Console an use the command: fixboot to
rewrite the boot sector.

If you're logged onto E: I believe simply fixboot will suffice. Fixboot without
parameters writes a new boot sector to the system drive you're logged on to. If you
want to be safe, fixboot e: won't hurt.
