Did it used to work before or is it a new build?
Most beeps are caused by the RAM or video
card not being recognized. You must have both
installed in order to POST.

It used to work, then it had a problem, the only thing I found was a bad nit
card which I replaced. The system took 14 hrs to reload XP pro. Then it ran
with 100%CPU usage and I could not get it to reduce by reducing processes. I
thought it had a MBR virus, but that did not pan out. I tried to reformat
again and XP would not finish loading as the CPU keep overheated and
shutting down. I took the cpu to a like machine and it would not post in it
either. That machine when the orgininal cpu was installed ran fine. I
replaced the cpu and this constant beeping came up, which was new to the
problem. I pulled each ram stick individually and no change. I pulled all
the other PCI cards etc. The beep codes say it is memory, unless both sticks
are bad?? Right now the video card and ram is installed, with the new cpu
and I get the continuous beeping. Not sure I want to put the ram in from the
like machine, is that my next step.

Ok, here is my memory from some years ago working , about A7V333 problems,
but you may also like to ask in the following newsgroup.

alt.comp.periphs.mainboard.asus

I will assume the following.

1) the CPU is rated to work with that board, some cores will, some will not.
Check on the ASUS site.
2) you have reset the CMOS
3) The CPU fan is fitted properly and is working with some sort of heat
paste ensuring the efficient transfer of heat.
4) Only CPU, 1 stick of memory and a video card are fitted.

I am sure you will have already done that.

If you are still getting a beep try moving the jumper that enables the
speech posting, put a pair of headphones into the audio out socket and see
what she is saying.

I am sure the problems used to be a speed issue with the CPU. You might also
want to try setting it to jumper mode, or jumper free mode, whichever it
isn't.

If you have tried all that then ask on the above newsgroup as someone will
remember the solution.

I assume that the A7V333 is similat to the A7S333, one has VIA the other has
SIS chipsets I uess.
