Intend to use Laplink PC Mover to transfer the current setup to the new machine and install Puppy Linux for crunching on the old one.
Certainly looking into quad-core.

This looks really attractive as I need a SATA HDD (approx £35). The MB does 4GB RAM but that's more than ok for me and has onboard graphics. I seem to remember my original post on the forum included the word 'tight' - which goes with 'retired'.
Can't have it all so I think I'll go for this with the Corsair RAM - too late to order today so plenty of thinking time when the footy gets a bit boring.
