May go back to Outlook 2000

I may want to go back to Outlook 2000 from Outlook 2007. How do I convert the
new Outlook 2007 .pst files so that the older program will read them?
Thanks.

Why?
Outlook 2000 is not even support as far as I know, and Outlook 2000 looks
and acts very differently. Personally I never liked Outlook 2000

I find Outlook 2007 very slow. I have hassles with Word 2007 and may also
revert back to Word 2000 (My legal package). Only Excel 2007 seems to be OK.
All three programmes were installed on this new Acer Notebook. (Not the
entire Office 2007 bundle). I never had any problems with the Office
Professional 2000 package. I don't have the bucks to buy the entire 2007
package.

You can't. You must create a new PST file in the old format and copy your
data into it.
File > New > Outlook Data file...
Good luck, and welcome to the last century.

If your new Notebook uses Vista, Office2k is not fully compatible, most
problems will be with OL
And if using Vista the amount of memory can cause probs.
These arent trial versions are they?

The Notebook has Win XP (with SP 2). (I did not want Vista - most here on the
tip of Southern Africa don't like it). I would not know if the 2007
components were trial - all I know is that they are registered with MS.

If I can solve the slow running of the Outlook 2007 and the problem of Word
2007 not keeping margins as I define them, then maybe I will keep them going
and then perhaps scrape the dollars together and buy the entire Office 2007.
Our South African Rand to the US dollar is going the Zimbabwe way...

Thanks for the help and concern.

You might post the Word problems to a word specific group, you would need to
state whether this applies to new docs, or ones you have previously saved.
If you look in Word>Help>About it will state either Trial or probably OEM
As to OL, what do you mean by 'slow' and how much memory does your laptop
have?
