maximum connections

I have posted previous questions addressing this problem.
Hopefully, this explains it better so I may receive a
solution. I have a small network. There are 12 computers
on the network. The server (which is only used to
retrieve and save files) is running Window XP Pro. I have
set the Windows 98 computers to do a "Quick Logon". This
allows the user to see the mapped drives to the server but
not to make the connection until the user actually clicks
the drive. Is there something like this in Windows XP
Pro? I have searched for an answer and can't find
anything to say one way or the other. Since many of the
users do not require the server that frequently, I can
minimize the server reaching its maximum connections due
to logoning onto the network but not accessing the server
drives. I have set the autodisconnect to 5 minutes which
has helped but not totally solved the problem.

Thanks.
Jackie

In Windows XP there's a network wizard, that is an
asistant to configure your network, I believe that your
network is not working properly in XP due to the actual
configuration. Why don't you try to reconfigure your
network. One question, how is your configuration, what
kind of router and network are you using?
