I have recently encountered a problem when clicking onto certain (not all)
links from web pages. The minimised link page appears, but the maximise icon
does not work, thus rendering the page useless (there are no scroll bars
either) Bearing in mind that my knowledge and expertise are minimal, has
anyone any ideas what I might have done wrong,or preferably a solution!

One possible cause.. Some windows are opened with controls that
restrict the size. If your text size is too large, everything may not
fit within the limited window. Since you state the maximize button
doesn't work, I suspect this is the reason.

Thanks,Joe,for your suggestion.Alas no joy.Two points,I have recently
installed a new firewall and virus scanner (separate providers) ?
coincidence, also I do have to admit to constantly changing settings in a
random attempt to diagnose or solve "problems" (I can hear the groans from
here!)

OK, I re-read your post. I wonder if the windows are going off-screen.
Try this next time a window is minimized: Right-click the Taskbar,
click "Cascade Windows". That might bring the window back into view.
