Help! Internet Explorer will not maximise screen correctly

Hello, something has changed in IE6 on my laptop.
When I maximise screen, the IE window does not start at the top of the
screen. i.e. you can see the entire title bar and minimise/maximise/close
buttons of the window behind. Thus the top of the IE window is about 30
pixels down from where it should be. Thus the status bar is off screen.
Doesnt matter what web page I visit, IE maximses to this position. All other
windows (Outlook, Visiual Studio etc are fine.) If IE isnt maximised I can
reposition it accordingly.
Whats happened to my IE? How do I fix it so that it maximises correctly.
regards
Brian

From: http://www.fjsmjs.com/IE/offpos.htm

Remove any 'Auto-hide' option for the Windows taskbar and while the window
is maximized, resize the taskbar then return it to the desired size. This is
to try to make Windows re-calculate the window size and boundaries.

If no joy, run regedit and remove these registry key values:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\window_placement

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Desktop\OldWorkAreas\OldWorkAreaRects

Then reboot.

Is this XP? Were you playing with its Magnifier? <eg>

Quick fix: toggle the Magnifier on and off.
Tip: use Win-U to open the Utility Manager.
