Max. number of open applications?

Hi everyone...

Sorry for my bad Englesh but i have one question.

I just try to see how many same programs Windows XP may open. I open 51 program and than
windows stops to open them. I first have to close 1 program to open another.
Example:
I open 51 Internet Explorer and i try to open one more but nothing, i try to open Windows
Explorer but nothing. I first must to close 1 Internet Explorer to open Windows Explorer.

What`s the solution to this problem? .. if there is solution...

Depends on how much memory you have. Even with a large
page file you have to run out of ram at some point.

51 is an impressive number. For several reasons. There is really no problem
here. Your PC ran out of resources - memory/virtual memory resources. It's a
lot like loading bricks onto a small truck. Each brick will make the truck
go a bit slower and then finally it won't go at all. Use fewer bricks.

OK, at 51 Internet Explorer my Page File is 624 Mb but in 51 Windows Explorer Page File is
234 MB.
I have 512 MB RAM and 500 MB Page File...

If I open 51 application Windows does not slows down...

There is a limit around there or a little higher on the number of
windows you can have open (including minimised ones) at the same time.
Really, having anything like that many open at once is an inefficient
way to use a machine

None that I know of. I presume it is a consequence of the size of data
structures that were inbuilt in the code of explorer (ie the desktop as
well as the explorer one launches).
