Max number of columns importing from Excel to Outlook Contacts?

When I import from Excel 2003 to Outlook 2003 Contacts and try to map custom
fields, not all of the columns in my Excel worksheet are available to
map/match to the Outlook fields. Is there a limit on the number of columns in
my spreadsheet that can be imported? Any help will be much appreciated.

Lucy, I am having the same problem. I have tried saving as a csv and a tab
text file and all the information goes into one area. I have three columns
that I want to import, last name, first name and e-mail address. There must
be a way to do this.

June, I have actually solved the problem and can now give you some help. The
key to making this work is that you must first create a Named Range for all
the cells you want to export, including, and this is very important, your
Header Row. Forget csv and tab delimited files, they will never work. So just
go to the Excel help menu(s) for naming the range for your data, and you
should be in good shape. There doesn't appear to be much limitation on the
number of columns that can be exported to Outlook--the only problem I had was
that I created the proper range but forgot that I later added some additional
columns, so had to go back and re-name the range to include all my columns.
Hope this helps you out.
Lucy
