Mass removal of Summary information from closed files?

F

Fiance

Hello,

is there a way to remove the information from the Summary tag of a Word
file (right-click on file, "Properties", "Summary") without manually
opening the file or right-clicking on it and then removing the
information in each field by hand?

Is there an utility to do this at once with several closed files?

The Summary often includes commercialy sensitive information (may
reveal the persons I have received a text from to third persons).

Hi Fiance,

DSOFile.dll should give you an interface for this. You need to use it
with some kind of program (a VBA macro, a VB6 exe, a .NET exe - anything
like that). You'll find an VBA-oriented article on the subject on
word.mvps.org and a .NET-oriented article in the Knowledge Base on
microsoft.com

There may also be third-party utilities, but I don't know of any.
