Marking read mail

I just upgraded to Vista. Even though I have gotten into:Tools, Options,
Read, and clicked on mark read mail (several times), it does not mark mail at
all. I have changed the time several times. Doesn't help. Every time I get
in, it shows "read mail" already marked - it just isn't working. Please
help. Thanks.

You are confusing the meaning of that setting?

It is a "reading" format, ie read all in plain text as opposed to reading in
Rich Text (HTML).

If you are wanting to mark all messages as 'Read', then you need to do that
by adding a 'mark all' button to the top toolbar. Tools>layout>customise
toolbar.

Or on the Edit menu>mark all read.

Tools, Options, Read, "Mark messages read after displaying for X seconds".
In mine, the X time is set to zero.
If you have already tried that, but read mail does not take on the non-bold font,
you may have selected a system font that is always bold.
