Marking e-mails as 'read'

Hi all

I have the 'by sender' view on my e-mails and have the preview pane at the
right hand side.

When I have unread e-mails in my Inbox, for some reason, they change to
'read' when I haven't actually looked at or opened them, so I'm receiving
e-mails and not actually reading them because they are not highlighted as
Unread.

Anybody else had this problem or know how to fix it?
(I use Office 2003).

Try going to tools, options, other, reading pane. You can untick the option
to mark items as read when viewed in the reading pane.

I don't think that your viewing mail 'by sender' is going to filter out
'read' messages from the view, but check your view settings if you aren't
seeing what you think you ought to be seeing in there.

I have checked the Reading Pane options and the 'mark items as read' option
isn't ticked.

Any more suggestions? (I have read posts like this previously but nobody
replied).
