Mark email 'as read' in my Exchange Server web mail?

I access my email through a 3rd party Exchange Server, reading mail at the
office using Outlook 03 and on the road and at home using the Exchange Server
web mail. I can't figure out how to mark web mail 'as read' without opening
and closing the mail. What am I missing? Can this be done in web mail?

What version of Exchange and what version of web browser?
