Mapping Network Drive

T

The ZenMaster

Hi. I have a legacy XP Pro network with a workgroup name assigned. I have
two Linksys NAS devices, an old EFG120 and a newer NAS200. The XP computers
see the workgroup and associated resources just fine, but my new Vista Home
Basic machine can't locate the workgroup. It appears that the "network"
consists of just the new machine. All of the computers are wirelessly
connected and the two NAS devices are cabled back to my router/switch.

Any ideas?

Hi
Make sure that the Software Firewall on each computer allows free local
traffic. If you use 3rd party Firewall On, Vista/XP Native Firewall should
be Off, and the active Firewall has to adjusted to your Network IP numbers
on what is some time called the Trusted Zone (consult your 3rd Party
Firewall instructions.
