Mapped Drives - Hang Computer

When mapped drives are not available, the computer hangs for 5 minutes while
attempting to find the drives. There seems to be a delay when logging off
when mapped drives are not available.

Is there a way to change the time-out period?

Yes, I know mapped drives are not as good as Active Directory and that I can
change the drives so they do not connect at start up, but these choices are
not left up to me.

try disabling offline saving to avoid synchronization which can delay logoff.
