Mapped drives fail on new computer - local device name already in

I've been moving computers from an "inherited" server without a domain
(running SBS 2000 using a workgroup) to a new domain set up on a server
running SBS 2003. Everything has worked well until I installed a new computer
for myself. I used Norton Ghost to copy my old hard drive, ran a repair using
Windows XP Pro w/ SP1, updated to SP2, and downloaded all the updates from
Microsoft Update. Everything works except that I can no longer use my mapped
drives to the old server. I also can no longer connect to the old server
unless I use the IP address. I keep getting the error "Local device name is
already in use." I tried using net use * /d to disconnect all drives as
suggested in another posting, but I cannot remap the drives.

The biggest problem that I'm running into is that I'm getting ready to move
Exchange from the old server to the new server, but I haven't done it yet. So
since I can't connect to the old server, I can't get any email. When I try to
send/receive in Outlook, I get the error " Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server -
Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x800411D) : 'The server is not
available. Contact your administrator if this condition persists.'

It has to be machine related because I can sign onto other computers with my
user ID and I have no problems connecting with the old server.

Any help would be appreciated! Thank you!

One correction. I am getting external email, but not INTERNAL email. External
email goes through our ISP, while internal email goes through the old server.
