Mapped Drive Error Message - Red X

P

Phil E. Lampe

Hello,

I am getting the error "An error occured while reconnecting M: to
\\server\maps
Microsoft Windows Network: The local device name is already in use. This
connection has not been restored"

On the screen, once you're in Windows File explorer, and you expand "My
Computer", you will see a red X next to each of the the mapped drive
icons.

Even though I can STILL actually access the mapped drives, it is
somewhat annoying, but I'm afraid that it has other implications as
well.

How can I fix this?

If you want to reply directly, remove the nospam before the email
address.

TIA

Phil in Orange County.
