Mapped drive - Red X

Pete

Have 3 PCs on a P2P network. 2 Windows 2K and 1 Win 98SE.
Have mapped drives on all PCs. The Win 98SE PC never has
Red X on mapped drive letters to the 2 Win 2K PCs. Both
Win 2K PCs usually have Red Xs on mapped drives to each
other and the Win 98SE PC. It appears that all mapped
drives are always available on all PCs even if there is a
Red X. Accessing a mapped drive with a Red X will remove
the Red X for a moment, then it's right back. Client is
concerned and I have no explanation.

Have changed the default timeout (15 minutes) to no avail
(which shouldn't matter as the Red X is back in seconds
anyway). Would really appreciate suggestions!
