Does anyone know if there is a way to install MAPI on Windows XP embedded without having to install Outlook ? I need access to address book entries though.

trin,

How about "Mapi32 Libraries" component? (Visibility=200)
But I guess some of the WAB stuff belongs to "Outlook Express" component only. Instead, you may also try to include and register
wab*.dll's.

KM, I guess its difficult to seperate the address resources in a
usable way from the Outlook for this requirement.Probably Trin might
need to include the complete to satisfy the dependency. In otherways
what he might do is include only the address resource but i guess he
needs to explicitely access the resource .. What do u think ?

Kesavan,

Although I have not done this on XPe it may appear not be difficult to separate WAB code from OE. Again, just coping and registering
appropriate Dll's.
Until this is probed and tested, I don't see a point to include complete OE if not needed.
MAPI is even more clear.

A difficulty is always measured in hours :-)

KM,Yes I really see your point and ofcourse it shouldnt be of hard
task getting the appropriate dlls registered .I was only worried in
the outcome for his requirement and as you said, Yes he should have
them tested before getting into any kind of complete integration :)

Kesavan
