MAPI not automatically pointing to new Exchange 2003 server

We are migrating mailboxes from our native Exchange 2000 server to a new
Exchange 2003 server.

Previously, if the user was using Outlook XP with MAPI, once their mailbox
was migrated the client would "auto-magically" get
repointed to the server that their mailbox had been moved onto.

However, this doesn't appear to be happening with Outlook 2003 clients using
Cached Mode. I must go into Control Panels -> Mail and repoint the user's
MAPI profile at the new server.

Any ideas?

We are getting the same issue with Cached Exchange Mode. If you remove the check mark on the cached mode, exit Outlook and restart the program then Outlook will find the new server in your Exchange organization. You can then recheck cached moded and it will will sync normally.

It happens if we move from either 2000 or 2003 servers to a new 2003 server with cached mode enabled. I am still trying to find out why this happens with only cached mode enabled. It does not happen in Outlook 2003 at all if cached mode is not enabled when the account is moved.
