Mapi Failure?

I use Thunderbird as my mail client. It is set to the default in IE.

In the registry the dll path for TB is

D:\Program Files\Mozilla Thunderbird\mozMapi32.dll

When I send a file to a mail recipient via explorer, TB opens, but it
is not opening a compose window.

I have a virtual printer used to produce pdfs. The virtual printer can
also send the pdf to a mail client. The following error messages arise
when I try to send a pdf to the mail client:

TB is the system default email client but it is not configured
properly. Do you want to correct problem?

I answer yes

Error message 2
An error occurred in windows (mapilogin failed) return code 2

How can I repair my mapi so it is working again. I tried repairmapi and
that has made no difference.

I managed to get it working by reistalling Thunderbird.
