my cdrw/dvd drive isn't working, neither is my usb. it says they're working
so i uninstalled them. rebooted, they still don't work so i deleted the upper
and lower from the registry after uninstalling them again. now when i reboot
it says: harware installation the software you are installing for the
hardware: samsung sp1604n, generic usb cf reader usb device (and the other
usb's too) has not passed windows logo testing to verify it's compatability
with windows xp.

my speakers don't work, it says i have no sound device.

internet explorer 7 is not working right if at all. windows up date
downloaded it but can't install it.

i can't download anything except program updates from the program its self.

can't copy and paste in internet explorer.

windows help and supprt won't work.

svchost.exe error

generic host process for win32 services has encountered a problem and needs
to close.

the instruction at "0x7c9105f8" referenced at "0x00000010". the memory could
not be "read".

i've used spybot, adaware, its malware cleaner, pc bugdr, registry repair,
spyware 2005, and others. it won't load mcaffee security center.

and i'm sure there's other problems i'm too tired and frustrated to remember
right now. does any of this seem familial to anyone. please, i really need
help :(

It might best to consider doing a "Repair" or In-Place install of Windows.
Only speculating, but it sounds like many unrelated Registry errors. The
time and effort to fix each individual issue far exceeds just repairing XP.
Once you get Windows fixed, I'd check into an Imaging program such
as Acronis True Image Home.

Well that does make it difficult. Unfortunately, most OEM PCs are
setup to Recover back to the "Factory State" which would cause the
loss of personal data/3rd Party Apps and customizations.

You might contact the OEM and explain your situation. They may
agree to send you a Windows XP disk. Depending on the agent you
speak to it might be free or incur a small shipping/handling fee.

It's sometimes possible to build-up an XP disk from the i386 folder
on the system volume - but I'd rate it an 8 on the 10 point difficulty
scale as it's a fairly complex operation.
