many lines to one comment

how can I associate many lines or places for one comment? I realize I could
use drawing but I wouldn't be able to hide the markup. Or is there another
way to mark a document that will associate one comment or note or memo to
many places on the document?

Not entirely sure what you are describing, but have you checkout the function
of Cross- References in the Help?
With these you can have multiple references throughout a document to a
single "comment". I say "comment" because this function will not cross
reference to Word Comments (ie Insert, Comments). But if your note can be a
Footnote/Endnote or a Bookmark section of text, this function if Cross
Referencing will do what you want.
